Toowoomba is not a big capital city, however, it has most of the services and conveniences that city living has to offer such as hospitals, health care services, schools, sports clubs, restaurants, libraries, parklands, etc. On the other hand, things are reasonably close by and we can enjoy a great sense of community. Moreover, Toowoomba is a great place to raise a family with lots of excellent schools<\/a> and activities for kids.\u00a0<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Toowoomba has lots of amazing areas which makes it hard to choose from. What\u2019s the temperature in Toowoomba?<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

Toowoomba’s higher elevation, sitting at around 700 metres above sea level, leads to cooler weather conditions in direct contrast to the coastal regions of Queensland. Although the climate is generally cooler, Toowoomba still experiences occasional heatwaves. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Toowoomba experiences distinct four seasons, with spring being a cherished time due to the city’s vibrant gardens and its traditional carnival of flowers. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

During the summer months, Toowoomba encounters average daytime temperatures ranging from 25\u00b0C to 32\u00b0C, accompanied by occasional thunderstorms. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Autumn brings milder weather, with temperatures averaging between 20\u00b0C and 28\u00b0C and moderate rainfall. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

In the winter season, the city experiences cooler conditions, with daytime averages ranging from 13\u00b0C to 19\u00b0C and occasional frosts, especially at night when temperatures can dip to 0\u00b0C to 6\u00b0C.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Finally, spring sees a gradual warming trend, with average temperatures spanning from 18\u00b0C to 26\u00b0C, accompanied by the blossoming of colourful flowers throughout the region. Parts of Toowoomba are considered to be high-risk floods due to its proximity to creeks and river systems. If buying a property, it\u2019s important to check the flood map risk<\/a> provided by the local authorities.  <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Toowoomba Airport and Flights<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

Toowoomba is serviced by its Wellcamp Airport<\/a> (WTB). Although a small airport, you can find direct flights to Brisbane, Sydney, Melbourne and Townsville operated by carriers such as Qantas Bonza and Regional Express. The airport is also considered a freight hub and cargo planes flying in and out of it. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Toowoomba\u2019s Carnival of Flowers<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

The Carnival of Flowers is one of Australia’s most iconic events – with the first official carnival being held in 1950. What started as a three-mile street procession celebrating flowers is now a major event that goes beyond the colourful gardens. It now includes music, arts, food and wine attracting about 300,000 visitors each year. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
